New Retail Development Coming To Sienna Plantation

Sugar Land, TX - Sienna Plantation is getting a new retail development at Highway 6 and Sienna Parkway in Missouri City, Weaver Davis & Jacob (WDJ) Realty Group and Sienna/Johnson Development, L.P. announced recently. The development, called Sienna Village, will feature 90,000 square feet of retail including five pad sites for banks, shops and restaurants and a new 113,771-square-foot H-E-B Plus that will open in late 2008.

"Sienna Village will be the first grocery-anchored retail development in Sienna Plantation," said Scott Weaver, principal of WDJ Realty Group. "With its convenient retail shopping and amenities, we know it will serve the residents of Sienna Plantation well."

"Residents of Sienna Plantation currently enjoy an abundance of recreational amenities, virtually at their doorstep. The addition of an H-E-B grocery store, restaurants and shops will give residents not only greater convenience, but also more opportunities to meet and greet one another, which is what community is all about," said Michael Smith, general manager of Sienna Plantation.

WDJ Realty Group, a full-service commercial real estate company specializing in mixed-use property development, purchased 28 acres of land from Sienna/Johnson, the developer of Sienna Plantation, and sold 16 of those acres to San Antonio-based grocery chain, H-E-B.

Additionally, WDJ Realty Group will develop retail sites on the remaining 12 acres of land, including five pad sites from as large as one and a half acres to as small as three quarters of an acre. Construction is expected to begin in fourth quarter of 2007 with store openings to commence in third quarter of 2008.

WDJ Realty Group is listed among the Houston Business Journal's "Top 25 Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Firms" and received a Good Brick Award from the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance and a Landmark Award from the Houston Business Journal last year for its renovation of a historic retail space in Houston's East End.
