MN48150

Seattle, WA /PRNewswire-iReach/ - Taqtile Mobility, a pioneer in retail mobile software and solutions, today announced that Nova Pontocom, one of the largest retailers in Brazil, will be the world's first firm to deploy the Taqtile Retail 1.0 mobile application and analytics platform. According to the terms of the agreement, Nova Pontocom will use Taqtile 1.0's extensive analytics capabilities to better cross-sell and upsell a broad spectrum of goods—ranging from clothing and housewares to consumer electronics and appliances—in stores, online, and via mobile devices.

As part of the arrangement between the two firms, Taqtile will use its platform to design consumer mobile apps for Nova Pontocom's three retail chains. Regardless of their location, app users will be provided with personalized shopping experiences such as in-store information, product updates, discounts and promotions. Detailed and intuitive dashboards will track individual and aggregate consumer behavior in real time—regardless of customer location. Nova Pontocom's full deployment of the platform is anticipated to take place by the end of 2013. Financial arrangements between the two firms have not been disclosed.

"We understand that mobile should be a fundamental part of our omnichannel strategy to transform retail experiences," saidVicente Rezende, Marketing Director at Nova Pontocom. "We decided that Taqtile was the best technology provider to implement this vision—and leverage Nova Pontocom's extensive analysis of our e-commerce channels and physical stores to better understand customer needs."

São Paulo-based Nova Pontocom owns 18 percent of the retail market in Brazil. The company earned US$1.8 billion in online revenue and US$12.5 billion in brick-and-mortar revenues in 2012. The company, which is part of the Pão de Açúcar Group, markets popular Brazilian brands such as Extra, Ponto Frio, and Casas Bahia online and in 1,434 physical stores.

"We are excited about working with such a well-respected and experienced retailer on virtual and in-store mobile strategies," said John Tomizuka, Chief Product Officer at Taqtile. "Nova Pontocom understands that tapping into growing Brazilian consumer purchasing power requires extensive personalization capabilities. Our platform bypasses conventional cookie-cutter approaches and creates apps that reflect individual consumer needs—along with advanced analytics for real-time campaign creation and management tools."

Taqtile mobile and location technology has been successfully deployed for large regional retailers in the United States, such as Dollar General and Hy-vee. Partnerships with AT&T and Salesforce.com subsidiary Heroku have allowed the company to thoroughly analyze consumer behavior in retail markets. Thanks in part to this extensive experience, the Seattle-based company has been able to develop Taqtile Retail 1.0 for large and medium-sized retailers. The platform is slated for general release in September 2013. More information about the platform is available at http://taqtile.com/?site=retail.
