In the supermarket industry, knowing that your stores are compliant with corporate objectives could potentially mean the difference between life and death. It is extremely critical to have on-­-demand visibility to confirm that your store communications are being read by the right people, that your employees are executing store-­-level tasks as they should, and that head office executives have the ability to verify that their stores are compliant with company objectives. This is not only critical from a compliance perspective but can also contribute to a retailer's ongoing success. Retailers are looking for better ways to help employees at their various locations to understand their marketing, product-­-display and management strategies. They realize they need a better way of communicating best practices, product marketing methods, seasonal product availability and other information to their employees to help ensure consistent operations from store to store.

President Obama recently unveiled a plan to form a Food Safety Working Group to focus on reforming food safety laws. While the government is taking an important lead to ensure the safety of our food supply, they are not the only ones who need to play a predominate role. Food retailers need to continue pursuing initiatives that will allow them to better communicate with stores and upgrade technology to support safety and food quality.
