Over thirty years ago, on June 26, 1974, the company made history with the first commercial bar code scan. A “10-pack” of Wrigley's Juicy Fruit chewing gum was scanned at the Marsh Supermarket in Troy, Ohio. Since then, Datalogic Scanning bar code scanners have been setting industry standards with the distinctive hallmark of high quality products, cutting-edge technology, meticulous design, and proven reliability.

For three years in a row, Datalogic Scanning, formerly PSC Inc., was named as the worldwide leader in total global shipments of stationary bar code scanners, with the Magellan® family of bi-optic scanners, as measured by Venture Development Corporation (VDC), an independent technology market research and consulting firm.

About the Datalogic Group

Datalogic S.p.A. acquired PSC Inc. in 2005. Recently, PSC Inc. and its parent corporation Datalogic S.p.A., announced a transformation project whereby three operating divisions would be created from the Datalogic Group of Companies (the Datalogic Group). Effective April 2, 2007, the divisions will be known as Datalogic Scanning, Datalogic Automation, and Datalogic Mobile. PSC Inc. has changed its name to Datalogic Scanning, Holdings, Inc. PSC’s subsidiary, PSC Scanning, Inc.
