Splenda is a new no calorie sweetener made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar. The sweetener has already been used as an ingredient in low calorie foods and beverages available in the United States. However, it is now available to consumers in retail stores in two forms—granular, which measures and pours like sugar, and in packets.
According to the manufacturer, the sweetener is free of the unpleasant aftertaste sometimes associated with some artificial sweeteners. In addition, it is well suited for use by people with diabetes.
The product is available in the following packages and sizes:
- 50 packet carton
- 100 packet carton
- 200 packet carton
- 1-lb granular (equivalent sweetness to 1-lb sugar)
- 2-lb granular (equivalent sweetness to 2-lb sugar)
