Somerdale International brings you a traditional Caerphilly made by Castle Meadows in the Welsh town of Abergavenny.
Traditional Caerphilly has it's origins in the farmhouses around Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. The Original cheese was a light coloured, slightly crumbly cheese. The popularity of Caerphilly soon spread across the Bristol Channel to Somerset where the cheddar cheesemakers found that the could make this cheese and sell it at a much younger age than cheddar and get paid far quicker that ageing their traditional cheddars.

Today, Somerdale International brings you a traditional Caerphilly made by Castle Meadows in the Welsh town of Abergavenny. The cheese gets as close as possible to the original.
