CommonKindness Launches 'Time Saver' Printer App

The new Java-based feature sends clipped coupons directly to the user’s printer, making print-at-home coupon clipping faster and simpler than ever.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) - This week, CommonKindness will enhance its free online grocery coupon website (http://www.CommonKindness.com) with a new Java-based print applet that sends coupons directly to the user’s default printer with a single click of an on-screen print button.

“The ‘Time Saver’ print feature, which works in the background, eliminates a step and speeds up the coupon clipping process,” said Sarah Schloemer, president and cofounder of CommonKindness.

The new print feature operates on Java applets already installed on most computers. Java, in fact, is used in over 3 billion online devices—including 97% of business computers—according to Oracle Corporation, makers of Java.

“Java enables online devices like smart phones, computers, televisions, game consoles and eBook readers to run lots of fun things like games and photo sharing programs,” said CommonKindness CTO Myke Hines.

“Time Saver is nothing like the invasive software some coupon sites force you to install in order to clip their coupons. It only does one thing—it makes printing coupons faster.”
Hines says that users may be prompted to allow the applet to run or update their version of Java the first time they print CommonKindness coupons.

“In the rare cases where you don’t have Java installed, or if you have an old version, the system will walk you through installing the most recent and secure version of Java,” said Hines. “We’ve worked hard to make the roll out easy for the end-user, and expect the enhancement will be well-received by the community.”

To use CommonKindness.com, shoppers simply go to the website, sign up, and designate their favorite nonprofit from the user-friendly directory. They can then select free printable grocery coupons for items they typically buy or want to try, print the coupons, and head to the store for savings.

For each coupon redeemed, CommonKindness gives 20% of its revenues to the nonprofit organization of the shopper’s choice.
