Astro-Med's QuickLabel Systems brand re-visited Dave’s Marketplace, a regional IGA grocery chain in Rhode Island, to get an update on how they are printing their own labels now that they have owned a Kiaro! inkjet label printer for six months. West Warwick, RI (PRWEB) - QuickLabel Systems, a brand of Astro-Med, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALOT), re-visited Dave’s Marketplace, a Rhode Island-based IGA grocery chain, to get an update on how they are printing their own labels now that they have owned a Kiaro! inkjet label printer for six months. Steve Alfaia, Graphic Designer and POS Coordinator for Dave’s Marketplace, reports that he now uses the Kiaro! to print house brand labels for many of the retailer’s private label items, including fresh-cut produce, meats, and prepared foods made in its commissary kitchen.

Alfaia explained that Dave’s Marketplace has seen an increase in retail sales for many products that are labeled with their new Kiaro! labels because the colorful labels attract shoppers’ attention. “There has been a sales increase in many of the items we label with the Kiaro,” said Alfaia.

He added that the Kiaro! label printer’s consistent performance has allowed him to rely on it to print 150,000 color labels in batches of 100 to 1,000 labels at a time over a period of just a few months.

According to Alfaia, the Kiaro! is an ideal tool as it instantly prints short runs of attractive labels at low cost, without wasting any labels between batches. “I actually don’t know how I did some of the stuff I did without it!” said Alfaia.

Alfaia described some of his favorite features of the Kiaro!, focusing on its ability to print highly customized labels with fine detail. He said that, “From a design stand point right down to final production, the Kiaro! will produce anything you want. And it will reproduce pretty much any color.”

Alfaia said that he has the Kiaro! to thank for simplifying his label design workflow. “With the Kiaro!, my design process has changed dramatically. It’s a much easier process now with the ability to pick almost anything I want and produce it on a label. The labels come out beautifully.”

Previously, Dave's Marketplace had served as a beta test site for the prototype Kiaro!. According to Alfaia, the grocery chain decided to purchase the Kiaro! color label printer due to their satisfaction with the Kiaro! during the beta test period and their positive experience with QuickLabel’s customer service personnel.

“We are thrilled to see Dave’s Marketplace enjoying such success in designing and printing a large variety of labels with their Kiaro! label printer for all nine of their Dave’s Marketplace retail locations,” said Eric Pizzuti, Vice President & General Manager of QuickLabel Systems.

The Kiaro! is the newest label printer offered by QuickLabel Systems and is priced under $10,000. To see the Kiaro! label printer at your office or production facility, simply request an in-person label printer demonstration at http://www.QuickLabel.com/Kiaro.
