In addition to a full line of refrigerated certified organic milk, juice and dairy products, Horizon Organic Dairy also offers the choice of certified organic Grade AA brown eggs. Unlike many other egg-production facilities, Horizon Organic Dairy provides its cage-free hens with the freedom to roam, so that they may enjoy fresh air in their living quarters and have access to the outdoors. In addition, an exclusive ventilation mechanism continuously circulates fresh air in the hen houses, and through an automated feed system, Horizon Organic hens find fresh certified organic feed and clean water in constant supply. These practices help maintain a healthier and cleaner living environment for hens, an important constituent in organic egg production. Like other Horizon Organic products, the certified organic eggs come from animals that are never treated with antibiotics or growth hormones and that are fed only 100% certified organic feed. Third-party organic certification by QAI (Quality Assurance International) also encompasses the hens, feedmills, hen houses and egg processing plants.
