Olive Oil for Soap Making

Fats or oils are saponified into soap by the addition of lye
Fats or oils are saponified into soap by the addition of lye. The lye is neutralized during the soap-making process. Olive Oil and lye is mixed with colors, fragrances and moisturizers such as glycerin. A lower grade of olive oil is actually preferred for these purposes, such as pomace or pure oil, because of its higher acidity level. Color is also important. Each olive oil harvest brings a different oil. We have selected oils which consistently make good olive oil soap.
